Self-Help with New Age guru or Sex Cult madness?

What do you think of it all: Self-Help with New Age guru or Sex Cult madness?  by Peter E. Tasciotti, in syndication   Also published on the illustrious scandal and gossip news website !!!

The organization known as NXIVM (pronounced “nexium”) has come under fire for their questionable activities, with increasing public scrutiny since Autumn 2017. The cracks had been showing slowly, yet with no major events. Nxivm is an upper class think-tank headquartered in upstate New York, where Nxivm is the brainchild of self-help guru, Keith Raniere, a Rensalaer Polytechnic Institute graduate. The breakout moment came, Monday, March 26, when the group got rocked to their core by the arrest of their leader, Raniere, in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The charges filed: he “turned female followers into ‘slaves’ who were branded with his initials and coerced into having sex, authorities alleged on Monday in a criminal complaint charging him with sex-trafficking.”

The highlevel arrest precipitated as a result of successive investigations by local and New York state authorities, involving federal level powers. The unfolding attempts to charge Raniere, ultimately has led to his prosecution by the U.S. Attorney’s office in Brooklyn, NY. The defendant goes by the endearing term of “The Vanguard” within Nxivm circles. “According to the complaint, Raniere oversaw a barbaric system in which women were told the best way to advance was to become a “slave” overseen by “masters.” They also were expected to have sex with him and do menial chores for masters, and to keep the arrangement a secret or be publicly humiliated, the complaint says.”

The vaunted and cherished Vanguard was on the lam for several months, using “end to end” encrypted email, so as not to be located. He also ceased to use his cell phone, in order not to be tracked by GPS. At the time of the dramatic arrest, he is reported to have been uncooperative. “…when immigration authorities arrived and after he was taken into custody, the women chased the car in which the defendant was being transported in their own car at high speed,” prosecutors said in court papers”.

Raniere, for some time, had been accompanied by “Smallville” actress, Allison Mack, who apparently holds the position of his female counterpart in the leadership of Nxivm. “Former “Smallville” star Allison Mack chased down Mexican cops as they carted away an alleged sex cult leader, and she might be the next one to be thrown behind bars”.

What activities were Raniere and Mack indulging in as part of the Nxivm regimen? “She allegedly has to find bed partners for him, run 40 miles a week and keep a strict diet to stay as skinny as possible. Sun Online put all the allegations to Mack’s publicist who replied: “Allison is passing on all press inquiries at this time.”.”

This epic drama is unfurling as the latest of major Hollywood squabbles. Allison Mack had joined Nxivm along with her “Smallville” co-star, Kristen Kreuk. The necessary disavowal came quickly from Kreuk on Thursday, March 29. “Following news that Kreuk was a celebrity group member, the 35-year-old star took to Twitter today where she denied having any involvement in helping recruit new people.

Kreuk stated, “When I was about 23, I took an Executive Success Programs/NXIVM ‘intensive,’ what I understood to be a self-help/personal growth course that helped me handle my previous shyness, which is why I continued with the program. I left about FIVE years ago and had minimal contact with those who were still involved”.

Actress, Sarah Edmondson echoed Kreuk’s distancing, “For the record, my dear friend @MsKristinKreuk was never in the inner circle of #NXIVM. She never recruited sex slaves and has been out since 2013 before shit got weird. She is a lovely person who should not be dragged into this mess. Thank you.”

Maxim also reports that, “Kreuk didn’t directly address Mack’s involvement. Like Raniere, Kreuk’s former co-star could soon be arrested, having remained in NXIVM as its practices grew bizarre. Mack was living with Raniere in Mexico at the time of his arrest. ”

Also connected to the so-called cult in their international network is Emiliano Salinas, the son of former President of Mexico, Carlos Salinas de Gortari. Salinas joined Nxivm and runs the operations as Director in their very successful Mexico City headquarters.

To top it all off, the prominent members of Nxivm include the heiresses of the wealthy Seagram’s fortune, of Edgar Bronfman Senior’s legacy. The famous trust-fund sisters of Canada, Sara Bronfman and Clare Bronfman, joined the self-help group in 200 and coordinated with Raniere to build it into the powerful entity that it is. Estimates of $100 million upwards of $200 million have been quoted as to the amounts poured into Raniere and company’s visionary plans of world influence. Vanity Fair is among those who have reported that, “To family friends, Seagram heiresses Sara and Clare Bronfman are victims of a frightening, secretive “cult” called nxivm, which has swallowed as much as $150 million of their fortune. But the organization’s leader, Keith Raniere, seems also to have tapped into a complex emotional rift between the sisters and their father, billionaire philanthropist Edgar Bronfman Sr. The author investigates the accusations that are now flying—blackmail, perjury, forgery—in a many-sided legal war.”

Nxivm has an entry on the world’s hippest web listing, Wikipedia, described as, “The NXIVM training system is administered through Executive Success Programs, Inc.. The training uses a technique called “rational inquiry” to facilitate personal and professional development. During seminars, students refer to Keith Raniere and NXIVM President Nancy Salzman as “Vanguard” and “Prefect”, respectively. Reportedly, over 12,000 people have attended the classes between its founding in 1998 and 2010.”

As per compartmentalization, Keith Raniere was running multiple interconnected organizations, including World Ethical Foundations Consortium, and Executive Success Programs, abbreviated as E.S.P, which is cleverly also the acronym for ExtraSensory Perceptions.

The launching of the World Ethical Foundation was coronated along with the Dalai Lama himself. This was due to the attachment of the Bronfman’s to the exalted Lama, especially Sara Bronfman. But for the Dalai Lama, it was a ‘should I stay or should I go’ kind of thing, with a flipflopping due to negative publicity surrounding Nxivm. There were concessesions and rescheduling, until the Tibetan figurehead eventually did attend on May 6, 2009 in Albany, NY.

Yet with more layers of the onion getting peeled, another group within the group has been revealed, a secret sorority called “Dominus Obsequious Sororium,” (DOS). This is roughly translated from the Latin as, ‘Master of the Slave Women’. What’s of concern to the investigators at the U.S. Federal Court in Brooklyn is the actual nature of that group, which possibly involved recruiting, slavery, sexual depravity, and branding on the skin, a form of ritualized scarification. The tattoo-like marking is produced by burning into the flesh by a cautering pen device.

The depraved activities of the cult are alleged to include: “the women also partook in videotaped branding ceremonies in which they had Raniere’s initials burned into their pelvic area. “During the branding ceremonies, slaves were required to be fully naked, and the master would order one slave to film while the other held down the slave being branded,” the complaint said.”

Businessman, Frank Parlato, a turncoat insider of Nxivm, is of the strong opinion that, “Now Raniere is in prison being held for arraignment. And Allison is likely to follow, having been one of the topmost leaders of the brutal DOS sub-cult of NXIVM that branded and blackmailed women. Mack, the second in command of DOS – which stands for Dominus Obsequious Sororium – which translates to “the slave women under the master” – reportedly has Raniere’s initials branded on her pubic region. And she has her own initials, along with Raniere’s, branded on dozens of other women. Mack gave Raniere “collateral” – raunchy, graphic, nude pictures of herself and other items meant to destroy her life – which he can release publicly if she leaves DOS or betrays him in any way.”

Clare Bronfman published her perspective on this disconcerting situation on the official E.S.P. website: “A note from our Executive Board Member, Clare Bronfman” Having direct experience with Keith Raniere, Nxivm associate, Clare Bronfman has stated, “Lastly, while I am not and never have been a member of the sorority, I was reassured to hear from one of the leading forensic psychiatrists in the country, and additionally ex-law enforcement investigators of over thirty years, conclude that the sorority has not coerced nor abused anyone. In fact, the sorority has truly benefited the lives of its members, and does so freely. I find no fault in a group of women (or men for that matter) freely taking a vow of loyalty and friendship with one another to feel safe while pushing back against the fears that have stifled their personal and professional growth. It’s not for any of us to judge how they, or anyone else, choose to advance their lives and values.”

On the same side of the coin, before the DOS was exposed, Forbes published a glowing piece on Nxivm and Raniere, entitled ‘Cult of Personality’. It stated, “Keith Raniere’s devoted followers say he is one of the smartest and most ethical people alive. They describe him as a soft-spoken, humble genius who can diagnose societal ills with remarkable clarity. They say his teachings as an inspirational executive coach can empower some of the most successful people in the world to attain ever higher levels of status and money. Why, his program can even cure ailments like diabetes and scoliosis.” That sounded great in 2003, but on with the downfall or at least, the trial by fire.

It turns out that an actress from “Dynasty”, Catherine Oxenberg, who is the daughter of Yugoslavian Princess Elizabeth, has been rallying attacks against Nxivm. “I want to help all the young women affected by this cult,” says Oxenberg. “They are the victims of human trafficking — which is slavery. For months, I have worked to expose Keith Raniere and Nxivm and today’s arrest vindicates my efforts. I want my daughter to know I love her and that I want her back in my life.”

The “Dynasty” star was not at all happy about her own daughter’s involvement with Nxivm. India Oxenburg (who is not a minor, being born in 1991) joined the group in 2011 and disagrees with her vociferous mother’s crusade. “India posted on Facebook that she was “absolutely fine, great actually [and] I would never put myself or the people I love into any danger.”

Oxenberg had joined Nxivm along with her friend, Bonnie Piesse, who starred in two Star Wars episodes, as the woman who raised Luke Skywalker. Apparently, Piesse has quit the group. “Piesse mentioned that India was in danger and had begun to starve herself, which is consistent with reports that Raniere pressured women in Nxivm to eat very little: Piesse, who last saw India in the days before she left Nxivm in January 2017, says, “India was in a bad situation. One time she told me that she wasn’t going to eat for three days [out of ] penance to try and correct her behavior.”.”

The dailywire asesses that, “The most prominent whistleblower is Frank Parlato, a former spokesman for the group, who has detailed in a blog the allegations against Raniere and Mack, including that Mack is his right-hand woman, leads the DOS sorority, and is a “key recruiter” for the group.”

Frank Parlato it seems has definitely rallied troops against Raniere and Nxivm. Parlato’s involvement in the group has been stated as “spokesperson”. Yet that title misses the mark, as there were financial dealings between his business associates in the Buffalo, NY region, and the associates of Raniere, including the Bronfmans. This dealing was to the tune of One million dollars, connected with the Niagara One real estate in Niagara Falls, NY.

The scope of this initial article is not broad enough to include an analysis of the Parlato/Bronfman business deal and subsequent litigations around Niagara One. Suffice it to say, the disagreements started a high stakes tit-for-tat, which ultimately led to the arrest of Raniere.

Parlato has recently teamed-up with Republican political operative, hatchet man, Roger Stone, on a Nxivm hitpiece. They recently posted a video entitled “Sex Cult Crashes” on Alex Jones youtube channel, discussing the case of Raniere and the sex cult. Parlato goes so far to say that the Bronfmans were able “to purchase justice” over the years.

Zerohedge goes on to link Raniere to alleged pedophile and rapist, former President Bill Clinton as far back as the 1980’s. “Keith Raniere, the co-founder and leader of a secretive self-help cult called NXIVM who was run out of Arkansas when Bill Clinton was governor has been arrested by the FBI in Mexico and charged with sex trafficking.”

What’s more bizarre is that theories are floating about this whole fiasco being a hoax by Raniere to test the true loyalty of his followers. Whatever the ulterior motives of any of the players, the lifestyles of the rich and famous are sure to intrigue and fascinate. Keith Raniere is being detained in Texas at an undisclosed facility; he has waived his rights and is being extradited. During April 2018, he will be transported by U.S. Marshalls to New York state to stand trial. At this time, it is not announced who his attorneys will be.
