Hey! 
I’ve moved to a rural area that doesn’t have DSL yet (didn’t even know places like that existed anymore! LOL) so it’s putting a real dent in my video playing time. I post a little at livevideo because they have the outside uploader which I can pause so I can upload with my slow connection. I can’t wait until they get the DSL lines out here, it’s such a pain!!!! LOL

i think the EXCUSE for the removal is the glass wanker. not that i feel that it is a legit excuse. remember, i had videos banned with zero nudity or pornography, merely the suggestion of it. i think what happened in both cases was people who do not like what we are SAYING are using porn as a excuse to shut us down.

Actually, although most continental Europeans consider themselves christians, very few (perhaps as low as single digit percentages) attend church on a regular basis. For comparison, I live in the American South and people go to church 52-104 times a year, sometimes more. And my state does not allow sale of sex toys (which includes the vibrating condom from elexa).

Incredible. She is a very smart little girl & you handled the interview very well. Was that her mother in the background, trying to control the whole thing??? That is why mothers & daughters’ relationships are so messed up! Her mom tried to answer for her & to dictate the questions. I have made the same mistakes & in the end it all worked out–I was just lucky. Interesting vid. Thanks.

AGREED!!! I had a video removed for ‘copyright claims’ when I was the one who made the damn video! I agree, but with one modification. If a video is flagged anyways, it should be reviewed by YouTube staff. If it’s flagged it should say why, (I.E. Copyrights, porn, etc) and then allow the poster to argue against it if s/he wishes. MySpace for example uses this method.

bored 13 year olds to youtube, and flag videoes. nomatter the content, they keep on flagging. i saw a video about the lancia stratos that was flagged. WTF. there wasn’t even humans in the video and it was inapproprate somehow.
i like this guys suggestions, because the system is being abused. i also suggest, as a simpler solution, if a video is flagged, the suthor can put a vote up for wether or not the video is truely inapproprate, or it’s some bored 13 year old flagger.

It’s been over a month since I uploaded this and started the petition. Just days before the deadline for overhauling the system flagging, they decided to sell the website to Google.
I suspect this is because they want to delay the inevitable reform of the flagging policy! Sneaky move!!

I agree, redo the system. I think people would be more accepting if the flagging was applied in a reasonable fashion. We would probably even accept it if it was applied somewhat unreasonably, but in a consistent fashion. That it is carried out in an unreasonable and an inconsistent fashion is beyond the pale.

A vBulletin type database system should be in place. All comments, flagging, ratings, etc. that anyone does should be accessible for anyone else to look at the person’s You Tube homepage. I assume the underlying issue is that You Tube wants as many visitors as possible and applying this type of thing will probably reduce the amount of internet traffic and thus reduce the salability of You Tube.

Pretty stupid that people flag vids just because they can. If there are videos that really should be considered for removal, it needs to be put to a vote by YouTube users. If something is offensive to a user, it’s extremely easy to close the video window and move on to something else.

established riteria for deeming a vid as “inappropriate”. It seems to me that this should be decided by the community. I also agree that flaggers should be made known as well as what they have flagged and the reasons. Do the reasons meet the established criteria???This is my signature.

when a video gets flagged, that takes it out of all the lists, such as most viewed, discussed, rated, plus – does not come up in searches, etc. Flagged status totally diminishes the video.
Videos that are popular with 1,000s of YouTubers, after they get flagged, get “lost” in the nether world of INAPPROPRIATE videos. Therefore many people cannot ever see them, who otherwise would have wanted to see them.

i’m curous you seem very much against censorship yet you threaten to delet negative comments? sounds..kind of..contradictory, no offense because in truth i agree with you, that there should be some changes, but at the same time. If some one where to post hitler-esque sentiments on youtube? or start ranting pro castro stuff or if say some one started pooring cihld pornography onto you tube..i imagine that stuff would offend a good deal of people and should rightly be removed..

I wrote ideas about ways to improve the system in my vlog. One huge problem is that the abusers flag those of us who are upstanding members of the YouTube community. I’ve since heard a reply from YouTube that says they actually read my proposal… Whether they listen is another story.

Yeah, I heard that on other videos too.
People want a way to select a picture to be the video’s representative icon.
That feature can be adjusted.
I suggest that those who have a jpg, gif or other image file, they can upload it and attach it ot he video info. Just like the directors accounts have images attached to their channels.

I dont go around with that kind of fear taking over life. Dealing with that fear or stress or self-doubt, it’s always the same process. You identify, admit, and transform the energy into the right attitude.

That is the greatness of YouTube. N fact its only claim to fame. Without that, the loss of that aspect is the end of it all.
If u dont like what u see, then use the remote and go on to the next video. But someone else may choose to watch that video.
The issue is about artistic interpretation as well.

Youtube adopts your labeling ideas; You flag someone; that person either hacks into Youtube or hires someone else to do it; they find out who you are and where you live; while you’re not home, they do some kind of damage to your house.

If we had more responsible users, who knew what *not* to post, then we wouldn’t need flagging at all. But it CAN be a valuable tool, if used correctly.

This is MY opinion.
I have flagged several videos for what I believe to be good reasons– chiefly that young kids should be protected from seeing some of the content therein. I believe that flagging should remain anonymous, because the people who have been flagged might turn around and attack the person who flagged.
I have NEVER flagged or blocked ANYTHING that did not deserve it, but I think the flag is necessary for some things, and I will use it if I feel it’s necessary.

Your main point about the “controlling of flagging” is important. True, I do not advocate the eradication of flagging. I merely want to have a counter, a record, to publicly know who the flaggers are! Know your accusers, have it revealed! That is pro-YouTube community. I want a proactive, open, fair, reasonable system.

That is a very important step. Though some people do have multiple accounts just to flag spam or flame people. That is somethin that also must be thought about. Perhaps if YT didnt have an automatic 2 flags its rubish rule or what ever, and instead had an actual person/s review the movies that have been flagged and deem whether or not that the movies are inappropriate. The same people could keep an eye on flag spammers and perhaps even penalize them. Hardtofitintoa500charactermessage >_<‘

I AGREE! The flagging system is not only flawed, it is USELESS! Any jerk can flag a video. I have tuned into the fact that some jerks flag a video whenever it gets a high rating. Jealousy or competetiveness is the culprit. I have had totally acceptable videos flagged just because they were highly rated, no other reason! I’m sure this happens to lots of youtubers.
